President's Message
Greetings Brothers and Friends of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
It is my esteemed pleasure that I welcome you to the 185th House of Alpha. I am Dr. Anthony Peterson, and I have the honor of serving as the 1st President of the newly re-chartered chapter Gamma Upsilon Lambda seated in Desoto, Tx.
We are a chapter committed to Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University by seven courageous, visionary, tenacious, astute, and esteemed college men. These seven scholars are known within our Fraternity as the Jewels of Our Fraternity.
Since our origin, Alpha Men have long recognized that there is a wealth of satisfaction for giving our all and helping causes unfalteringly as we rally to Alpha's call. We delight in our opportunity to be your advocate, servicing our community, and aiding in the downtrodden of humanity.
No matter your walk of life, the #SWDallasAlphas will always strive to be the treasury of good fellowship.
Our communities, our youth, and humanity are our priority as we strive to advocate for the betterment of the Best Southwest Dallas County and the surrounding communities. Community-building is a part of our commitment to you.
It is through our strategic planning, civic engagement, educational support, and the power of brotherhood that we continue to expand our footprint and provide vital resources to impact and empower the communities we live and service.
Since our chapter's chartering on July 25, 2023, we strive to constantly invoke principles which make for common brotherhood. So, if you are a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and looking for a chapter home, we invite you to join the ranks of the 185th House of Alpha, where we exemplify that GOODWILL IS THE MONARCH OF THIS HOUSE.
Our noble and visionary twelve charter members have laid the foundation for our chapter to move ONWARD TOGETHER, UPWARD TOGETHER, AND CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE LIGHT OF ALPHA TOGETHER.
So, we need you Brothers so that together, we can have a greater impact and meaningful change. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where members can grow and thrive.
To our friends of this chapter and our beloved fraternity, we invite you to come to our events, meet our members, and engage in our companionship. As we say in Alpha, we are the eminent expression of friendship, and we look forward to future partnerships and support.
